A compact switch board with coloured LED responses

This handheld activity board gives children aged 3 and over a collection of rocker switches, a toggle and other manual controls to explore. Operating a control activates the connected coloured light, helping children notice simple cause and effect while practising deliberate hand movements.

The wood-look body is described as ABS rather than timber. It requires two AAA batteries and does not need an app, mains lead or rechargeable battery pack.

What children can explore

Rocker switches

The coloured top switches can be moved between positions while the child watches for the corresponding LED response.

Toggle and slider controls

Lower controls invite a different push, flick or slide movement. Demonstrate gently so the child does not force a component past its normal travel.

Coloured LEDs

The board uses multiple red, green, blue and yellow light lenses. The number and arrangement differ between small and large.

Decorative stickers

First-time setup

If a light does not turn on

Stop use and have an adult switch the board off or return all controls to their starting positions.
Open the battery compartment away from the child and check that both AAA batteries follow the polarity markings.
Replace both batteries with a matching fresh pair if power is weak or intermittent.
Check any intended plug-in connector shown in the supplied instructions. Do not force, rewire or modify it.
