A Palm-Sized Montessori Activity Cube With 6 Things to Do

Turn it, press it, flip it, pull it. Every side of this 6-in-1 activity cube has a different hands-on control: a password drawer, a rotating clock, a spinning fan, a telephone-style dial, push switches and a pretend plug door with a mirror and a pull-out fabric strip.

At about 8.5 cm on each side it fits in a small hand, and the top carry strap makes it easy to move from the table to the couch. It is marked for ages 3 to 6, works entirely by hand and is a simple, screen-free gift for birthdays, Christmas and quiet-time baskets.

Password drawer

Turn the three number rollers to 000 and the little drawer pops open. A fun first lesson in matching numbers and trying again.

Rotating clock

Two clock-hand shapes move around a printed dial, so your child can copy the time you call out.

Spinning fan

A flower-shaped fan on the top face spins with one finger. Restless hands often go back to it first.

Telephone-style dial

Turn the round finger dial and let it return, a simple twist-and-release movement that is popular with little ones.

Push switches

How to Play: 5 Easy Starter Ideas

  • Start with one face. Show a single turn or press and let your child repeat it before you rotate the cube to the next side.
  • Crack the code. Set the three rollers to 000 and watch the drawer open. Then try a different number and talk about why it stays shut.
  • Set the time. Call out "3 o'clock" and let your child move the clock hands to match.
  • Peek and pull. Open the plug-shaped door to find the mirror, then pull the fabric strip and let it slide back in.
  • Take it along. Hold the cube by the strap on a quiet car ride, at a cafe or at the doctor's waiting room, and put it away when it is not being used.

Safety and Supervision

Recommended for ages 3 to 6, with an adult nearby. Follow the age and warning label that arrives with your item.

  • Keep the carry strap away from the neck, car seats, cots and sleep spaces.
  • The plug shape is pretend play only. Never put it, or any part of the cube, into a power point.
  • This is an activity toy, not a teether. Do not let children chew it.
  • Check the casing, strap, drawer, mirror and fabric strip before play and stop using the cube if anything cracks, frays or comes loose.
  • Use it on a table or the floor. Do not throw it or drop it on purpose, and check it after any fall.
  • Random-1Bunny is a separate fidget. Keep any loose part away from children under 3.

Care

Wipe the cube with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away. Do not soak it or let water get into the drawer, hinges or dial.

You can return an item within 14 days of purchase if it is unused, unopened and in its original packaging, with your invoice. Change-of-mind returns are offered as an exchange or store credit.
