Two ways to play with one wooden puzzle

The same pieces give two different activities. Children start by matching the coloured sections to the picture on the board, then take the raised pieces out and connect their slots to make a freestanding animal.

A practical way to introduce the puzzle

Sit with your child and look at the picture on the board first. Name the animal together.
Let them lift out the raised pieces, then fit each one back into its matching recess.
When the inset puzzle feels easy, show one connection between two slots and let them try the next.
Stand the finished animal on a flat, stable surface and put every piece back on the board when you finish.

Tip: the piece shapes and assembly order differ for every animal. A tall giraffe, a round crab and a long seahorse are built differently, so use the photo of the chosen style as a guide.

Care and safety

Supervise every session and follow the age label on the delivered packaging.
Keep all loose wooden pieces away from children under three and from children who mouth toys.
Check the board, raised pieces and slots for cracks, splinters or peeling print before each use.
Do not force tight slots. Stop using a piece that bends, cracks or splits, and do not glue damaged pieces for play.
The standing animal is a puzzle model. It is not a throwing, climbing or ride-on toy.
Wipe with a soft, barely damp cloth only if the delivered care instructions allow it, then dry every wooden part straight away. Do not soak the wood.
